The 20 kg galvanized feeder for poultry is a large-capacity hopper feeder designed to ensure simple and regular distribution of feed to your chickens. Robust and practical, it is made of galvanized steel and has a reserve that can hold up to 20 kg of feed.
Its particularity lies in its great versatility of installation. The feeder is delivered with its stand on legs, but this is optional. Depending on the layout of your chicken coop and the size of your poultry, you can use the feeder in three different ways: on its legs, directly on the ground without the legs, or suspended.
This ability to adjust the distribution height allows you to easily find the most appropriate configuration for your animals while helping to keep the feed clean.

A large reserve of 20 kg of feed
With its 20 kg capacity, this feeder is particularly suitable for owners with multiple chickens or those wishing to reduce the frequency of refills.
The feed is poured directly into the upper part of the hopper. It then gradually descends to the circular cup as the poultry consume it.
The system works simply by gravity: no electrical power, batteries, or complex mechanisms are required.
This large reserve allows for a significant amount of feed to be kept immediately available for the poultry.
The indicated capacity corresponds to an approximate maximum quantity. It may slightly vary depending on the density and granularity of the feed used.
Dimensions: Ø top 23 cm, Ø base 40 cm x H 47 cm without the legs
Several chickens can eat simultaneously
The circular shape of the feeder allows the poultry to spread around the cup.
Unlike a feeder with only one front access, several chickens can come to eat simultaneously.
With a diameter of 405 mm, the feeder offers a comfortable feeding space while maintaining reasonable dimensions relative to its 20 kg capacity.
This design is particularly interesting for groups of poultry, as it naturally distributes the animals around the food.
Three installation possibilities
One of the main advantages of this feeder is the ability to choose between three different configurations.
The legs are provided but removable, allowing you to easily adapt the installation to your chicken coop.
1. On the provided legs
The first option is to use the feeder with its originally supplied leg support.
The legs elevate the cup above the ground, thus helping to keep the food cleaner.
Chickens naturally spend a large part of their day scratching the ground. They can then project soil, straw, chips, and various dirt around them.
By placing the feeder on its support, the feeding area is further away from the ground.
This configuration helps to:
- limit the introduction of bedding into the food;
- reduce projections of soil and chips into the cup;
- keep the feeder away from slightly damp ground;
- offer a comfortable feeding height for adult poultry.
This is generally the configuration we recommend when the feeder is installed in a coop with bedding on the ground.
2. Directly on the ground, without the legs
It is not mandatory to use the provided support.
The feeder can be placed directly on the ground without the legs.
This configuration allows for a lower feeding height and is the simplest solution when the feeder is installed on a flat, clean, and dry surface.
It can be particularly interesting for smaller poultry or when the configuration of the coop does not require elevation.
In this case, we recommend placing the feeder on a stable and as clean as possible surface to prevent the chickens from easily projecting bedding into the cup.
3. Suspended, without the legs
The third option is to suspend the feeder.
The legs are not used, and the hopper is suspended using its suspension system and an appropriate chain or support.
This solution has the advantage of allowing you to precisely adjust the height of the feeder according to the size of the poultry.
A properly suspended feeder also helps limit the projection of bedding into the food and prevents the poultry from easily moving the entire setup.
The height can be adjusted as the animals grow.
Which configuration to choose?
All three options are perfectly usable. The choice mainly depends on your poultry and the layout of your coop.
On the legs: a particularly interesting solution for adult chickens and coops with significant bedding.
Directly on the ground: simple and low installation, suitable when the feeder is placed on a clean and stable surface.
Suspended: solution allowing precise adjustment of the height and keeping the feeder further away from the litter. This versatility is a real advantage since you can also modify the installation later without having to change the feeder. A robust galvanized steel feeder The feeder is made of galvanized steel, a material particularly suitable for poultry equipment. Galvanization involves protecting the steel with a layer of zinc to improve its resistance to corrosion. Compared to a lightweight plastic feeder, the metal construction also offers excellent rigidity and is perfectly suited for daily use. Galvanized steel has several advantages for the chicken coop: - good mechanical resistance; - excellent rigidity; - corrosion resistance; - good durability; - relatively simple maintenance. However, it is important to keep the feeder in good conditions and avoid as much as possible permanent exposure to moisture. A stable base and rounded finishes The feeder has been designed to offer good stability when used on the ground. The metallic finishes are also crafted with rounded edges to limit the presence of sharp edges that could injure the poultry when they come to eat. This attention to finishes is particularly important for equipment around which several animals can move simultaneously. Easy filling from the top Filling is done simply from the top of the hopper. You just need to pour the feed inside the reserve. It then naturally descends to the dish. The absence of a complex mechanism makes the system particularly easy to use and maintain. You can notably place different dry feeds suitable for poultry, such as pellets or certain grain mixes. However, it is important to use food that is sufficiently dry and fluid to ensure good descent into the hopper. A feeder without an upper lid It is important to specify that this feeder is open at the top and does not have a rainproof lid. It should ideally be installed: - inside the chicken coop; - under a roof; - under a canopy; - or any other location properly protected from the weather. Direct exposure to rain could wet the feed present in the hopper. Wet feed risks clumping, descending less efficiently towards the dish, and especially deteriorating. Even though galvanized steel offers good corrosion resistance, we therefore recommend installation under shelter to primarily protect the feed. An interesting solution for groups of chickens The 20 kg capacity makes this feeder a particularly suitable solution for owners with a relatively large group of poultry. It allows you to have a reserve larger than that of a small domestic feeder, thereby reducing the frequency of refills. The actual autonomy, however, depends on many factors: number of poultry, breed, age, season, distributed feed, and potential waste. It is therefore preferable to consider the 20 kg as a storage capacity rather than a specific number of days of autonomy. How to limit waste? The installation height of the feeder plays an important role. A feeder placed too low more easily allows chickens to scratch in the dish with their feet and expel the feed. For adult chickens, using the provided legs or hanging it allows for a higher position and helps limit this behavior. It is also advisable not to overfill the dish and to monitor the poultry’s habits during the first days of use. If you notice a lot of food on the ground, adjusting the height of the feeder can already significantly improve the situation. Simple maintenance The feeder should be maintained regularly to keep the feed in good condition. We recommend emptying it completely from time to time to remove dust and small residues that may accumulate at the bottom of the hopper. The dish should also be cleaned regularly. When cleaning with water, always let the feeder dry completely before refilling with food. Grains and pellets should not be placed against a still damp surface. Also take the opportunity during cleaning to check the general condition of the galvanization and the support. For which poultry? This feeder is suitable for different types of poultry, including: - Laying hens; - Chickens; - Ornamental poultry; - Other poultry whose size is suited to the height of the bowl. Thanks to the three installation options, the feeding area's height can be more easily adjusted to the animals. For chicks and very young poultry, we recommend a feeder specifically designed for their small size, offering a better-suited height and access.

A particularly versatile 20 kg feeder
The 20 kg galvanized feeder for chickens is a robust and versatile solution for having a large food reserve in the chicken coop. Its main advantage lies in its three installation options. Use the supplied legs to elevate the feeder and keep food away from bedding, remove them to simply place the feeder on the ground, or directly hang the hopper to precisely adjust its height to your poultry. This modularity allows the installation to evolve according to needs: a feeder can, for example, be used on the ground at first and then raised or suspended as the poultry grows.
Its 20 kg capacity, its galvanized steel construction, and its wide circular access make it a particularly interesting feeder for owners with several chickens.
Since it does not have a rain cover, we recommend installing it inside the chicken coop or under a shelter, to keep the food dry.
