Toxa Overdose: a Grain Bait Against Rats and Mice
The presence of rats or mice in a farm, livestock facility, stable, chicken coop, warehouse, or building can quickly become problematic.
Rodents consume and contaminate food, damage packaging, and can cause damage to buildings and installations.
Toxa Overdose has been developed to combat infestations of rats and mice with a ready-to-use cereal formulation.
Its 5 kg format provides a large amount of bait to supply multiple stations and ensure their replenishment during the treatment period.
An Attractive Grain Formulation for Rodents
Toxa Overdose comes in the form of a cereal-based rodenticide bait.
Since rats and mice are naturally attracted to cereal foods, this presentation is particularly suited to their eating habits.
The bait is ready to use: it does not need to be mixed with another food or have an active substance added.
It should simply be distributed in secure bait stations, in accordance with the recommended quantities and instructions on the product label.
Difenacoum 0.0025% – 25 ppm
The active substance in Toxa Overdose is difenacoum.
Concentration:
Difenacoum: 0.0025%
equivalent to:
25 mg/kg – 25 ppm
Difenacoum belongs to the family of second-generation anticoagulants.
Its action disrupts the vitamin K cycle essential for the normal functioning of blood coagulation.
Since the effect is not immediate after ingestion, rodents generally do not easily associate the consumption of the bait with its effects.
Against Rats and Mice
Toxa Overdose is designed to combat two of the rodents most commonly found around buildings:
Brown Rat – Rattus norvegicus
House Mouse – Mus musculus
It can thus be used in the context of controlling rodents present in different environments, in compliance with the authorized uses listed on the label.
Where to Place Toxa Overdose?
Before starting treatment, it is advisable to precisely identify the areas frequented by rodents.
Look for:
- droppings;
- tracks;
- gnawed packaging or food;
- holes and nesting areas;
- passages along walls;
- places where animals come to feed;
- areas near food reserves.
The bait stations should be placed as close as possible to the areas of rodent activity.
Rats and mice tend to follow the same routes regularly. A good positioning of the stations is therefore essential for effective treatment.
Recommended Dosage
The amount of bait depends on the targeted rodent.
For mice
Plan for 25 to 30 g of Toxa Overdose per bait station.
When multiple stations are necessary, a minimum distance of 2 meters should be maintained between stations.
For rats
Plan for 100 g of Toxa Overdose per bait station.
When multiple stations are necessary, a minimum distance of 5 meters should be maintained between stations.
The quantities should always be adjusted according to the authorized use conditions and the instructions on the label.
Always Use a Secure Bait Station
Toxa Overdose should not be scattered freely in the building or directly on the ground.
The bait must be placed in secure and rodent-appropriate bait stations.
The station offers several advantages:
- it protects the bait;
- it limits access to non-target animals;
- it prevents the dispersion of grains;
- it facilitates monitoring of consumption;
- it allows for clean bait replenishment;
- it helps secure the treatment.
The stations should be positioned out of reach of children, pets, poultry, and other non-target animals.
A Solution Suited to Farms
The packaging of 5 kg is particularly interesting when multiple areas need to be treated.
In a farm, rats and mice can easily find food in grain reserves, feeders, food bags, or storage areas.
Toxa Overdose can be used, under the conditions specified by its authorization, to combat rodents present in or around buildings.
It is particularly important to combine treatment with good preventive measures.
Regularly check the stations
Bait stations should not just be installed and then forgotten.
When treating against mice, an initial check should be performed after about 2 to 3 days.
For rats, the first check usually occurs 5 to 7 days after the start of treatment.
The stations are then checked at least once a week.
During each check:
- check bait consumption;
- inspect the condition of the station;
- renew the bait when necessary;
- replace deteriorated or soiled baits;
- search for and remove rodent carcasses.
Use around buildings
When Toxa Overdose is used outdoors around a building, stations should be installed in protected locations.
The bait should particularly be protected from:
- rain;
- snow;
- excessive moisture;
- risks of flooding;
- access by non-target animals.
Any bait damaged by water or heavily soiled must be replaced.
The product should not be placed directly in burrows.
Advantages of Toxa Overdose 5 kg
- Ready-to-use rodenticide bait
- Grain formulation
- Against rats and mice
- Active substance: difenacoum
- Concentration of 0.0025%
- 25 ppm of active substance
- Second-generation anticoagulant
- Use in secure bait stations
- Large economical packaging of 5 kg
- Allows feeding multiple bait stations
- Suitable for significant deratization needs
- Practical bucket for storage and handling
- Particularly suitable for agricultural buildings and authorized areas around buildings
Reduce competing food sources
To improve the effectiveness of a deratization campaign, it is recommended to reduce as much as possible other available food sources.
In a chicken coop, stable, or agricultural building, spilled grains can, for example, constitute food much more easily accessible than the bait placed in the station.
Before and during treatment, consider:
- regularly cleaning up spilled food;
- storing grains and food in properly sealed containers;
- avoiding leaving open bags;
- limiting access to waste;
- repairing openings that allow rodents to enter buildings, if possible.
Rodent control is generally more effective when it combines baiting, hygiene, eliminating food sources, and limiting entry points.
Precautions for use
Toxa Overdose is a biocidal rodenticide product that should be used with caution.
Always read the label and product information before use.
Keep the product out of reach of children.
Prevent access by pets, poultry, livestock, and non-target wild animals.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke when handling the product.
Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
Do not place bait near food, drinks, or animal feed when there is a risk of contamination.
Rodent carcasses should be searched for and removed regularly during the treatment period to particularly limit the risk of secondary poisoning of predatory or scavenging animals.
At the end of the treatment, remove the remaining baits according to the instructions on the label.

Why choose the 5 kg format?
The 5 kg bucket is particularly suitable when a large amount of bait is needed.
For reference, 5 kg is enough product to make up to 50 charges of 100 g for rat stations, before renewing the consumed baits.
For mice, the same packaging allows for the preparation of an even greater number of stations with charges of 25 to 30 g.
It is therefore an interesting solution for farms, agricultural buildings, and other sites requiring the setup of multiple baiting points.
Toxa Overdose 5 kg: a cereal bait for rodent control
Toxa Overdose 5 kg combines a grain formulation with 25 ppm of difenacoum and large packaging intended for significant needs.
When used correctly in secure bait stations, it allows for the implementation of an organized treatment against rats and mice, with quantities adapted to each species.
To maximize results, its use should be combined with regular monitoring of the stations as well as preventive measures aimed at reducing available food and the possibilities of rodent access to buildings.
